Miriam Friedlander
Miriam Friedlander (April 8, 1914, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – October 4, 2009, New York City, New York) was an American politician from the Bronx who represented the city council district in New York City's Lower East Side and Chinatown from 1974-91.
In the primary election of the Democratic Party she defeated Sheldon Silver. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1914 to David Sigel (Sigelovytch) and Hannah Lipman. She died on October 4, 2009, aged 95.[1]
