Michael Joseph "Mike" Altieri (born April 14, 1973) is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the Actors' Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Altieri is a New York International Independent Film and Video Festival Award-winning producer.
Early life
Altieri was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania. Altieri is the son of Joseph Ronald Altieri, a musician, and Rita Claire Chico, a singer. In 1988 Altieri began studying Singing, Dancing and Acting at Frohman Academy in Carmel, California.
Altieri attended Monterey High School (Monterey, California) where he participated in high school theater productions. He graduated in 1991 and later enrolled in Monterey Peninsula College to continue studying Acting. He later left school to pursue an acting career.
In 1995 he continued his Acting training in Hollywood, California with Professional scene study coaches and improv experts. He also studied Producing at the American Film Institute. After finishing at AFI, Mike went on to produce and star in more independently produced films with "high production value". While in Hollywood he pursued auditions and supported himself with a variety of odd jobs, including waiter, real estate assistant, and real estate agent.
Career
Altieri independently produced and starred in the short film ON DUTY (2000) that won "Best Short Film" at New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in 2000.[1][2] Altieri went on to star in, the Student Short Film Festival in Toronto's "Official Selection", TIL UNDEATH DO US PART (2006), and later, REVOLVER (2007), "Official Selection" at the SoCal Indy Film Festival in Orange County, California in 2007,[3] and "Official Selection" at FESTIVUS film festival in Denver, Colorado in 2008. Most Recently, he Produced his wife's first Writing / Directing accomplishment, the short film POSITIVELY 4TH STREET (2007), her first challenge on the Steven Spielberg / Mark Burnett show, On the Lot.
While in Hollywood, California, Altieri took acting classes with Ivana Chubbuck among several other professional acting coaches and improv experts. He appeared in several student films and later landed a role in the Actors' Equity Association Knightsbridge Theatre production of The Pirates of Penzance. Altieri has appeared as an extra in several television and movie productions.
Entrepreneurship
Altieri currently runs his own production company, Around the Clock Productions. Altieri's production company, Around the Clock Productions, will produce his next movie, "The Trophy Case".[4]
Personal life
In 1996, he met his current wife, Shauna McClure, and celebrated 12 years together on September 12, 2008. At 7 years together they had their first child, a daughter, Ruby Claire, and 3 years later had their second child, a son, Logan Michael.
He has a scar on his left cheek, above the cheek bone, which he received as a child when swinging on a neighbors swing set.
