Miguel Caballero (company)
Miguel Caballero is a bulletproof clothing company based in Bogotá, Colombia, Mexico and Guatemala. It is mostly known for its fashion line of bulletproof clothing and counts among its clients King Felipe VI of Spain, the Former Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg, the ex-President of Colombia Álvaro Uribe, the ex-President of Venezuela Hugo Chávez, the President of the United States Barack Obama, the President of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto and other VIPs. The company also supplies bulletproof clothing to the military, police and private security sector. Currently Miguel Caballero is working on a new Uniform project for the Mexican Military.
History
The company was founded in 1992 by Miguel Caballero as a graduation project at Universidad de los Andes. He had the idea to produce fashion clothes with bulletproof protection as a response to the needs of the field of specialized personal safety. In 1993 Miguel Caballero shoots the first person using one of his armored garments; thus was born "I was shot by Miguel Caballero" that nowadays counts more than 800 people. He sets up the company in 1995 and developed of the first de-mining suits in cooperation with the Colombian National Army, Miguel Caballero is the first company in Latin America to meet the NIJ 0101.04 standard (1996) and the N.I.J. 0101.06 standards (2001). In 2006 Miguel Caballero opens the first boutique specialized in armored garments in Mexico City and in 2009 it opens its first production plant of 49,513 sq. ft. in Cota-Cundinamarca, Colombia. In 2011 it obtains certificate of the [European Community], adding to its long list of certifications and in 2013 gets its first patent with the Armor T-shirt product in Colombia. In addition to Miguel Caballero Mexico in 2014 opened the second international corporate office in Guatemala City. 2015 was a very important year for Miguel Caballero as it obtained the ISO 14001 certification, the MC4-G and S33 brands were created and gets its first patent in Mexico with the Armor T-shirt product.

Black
This brand, that made Miguel Caballero internationally famous, implement solutions for ballistic protection in exclusive garments made with the highest standards of quality and technology. These garments are customized for our most demanding customers in terms of fashion and who, in turn, seek protection for their lives. The company began by making bulletproof leather and suede jackets, but has now expanded to other clothes, including raincoats, blazers, and a women's line.
MC4-G
It offers a wide range of products focused on Private Security, Armored Cars and motorized users and takes inspiration by the resistance to all the 4 elements of the Earth: fire, water, earth and air.
S33
S33 is aimed at the legally constituted military and armed forces, intelligence and investigation groups, and administrative tactical and criminology units, as well as state protection organizations at the national and international level. It covers the needs of public servants and their movable and immovable property including ships and aircraft.
Turer
This brand provide motorcycle clothing with specialized protection solutions for private users according to the innovative spirit of the company.
Certifications
The clothing can withstand ammunition from weapons including 9mm, .44 Magnum, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .50 AE, 5.56, 7.62 mm NATO, 6.8mm SPC and a .50 caliber round.

In 2005 Miguel Caballero was selected as one of the 31 best business ideas in the world by Business 2.0 magazine.
