Michael Claassens (born 28 October 1982 in Kroonstad, Free State) is a South African rugby union player for the Sharks in the Southern Hemisphere Super Rugby competition.
Claassens previously played for the Free State Cheetahs,the Springboks and Bath Rugby in the Aviva Premiership, where he plays as a scrum-half. In February 2015, the Sharks announced the signing of Claassens at the conclusion of the 2014–15 Top 14 season.[2]
Errie Claassens, brother of Michael, formerly played at full-back or at wing.
