Metro TV Metropolitan Entertainment Television (Metro TV) Limited has since its inception in 1997, successfully established its brand as Ghana's second largest broadcasting station, by providing national coverage to all Ten Regional Capitals in Ghana, whilst also available on DSTV channel 1.

PROGRAMMING Metro TV started as a weekend network, broadcasting in the Accra Metropolis with almost all of its content directed to Quality Family Entertainment, but has since 2005, transformed itself to Ghana's leading Sports TV station, with a strong Newsdesk of local, regional & International Live News. Currently aiming at positioning our content Quota to 30% News, 40% Entertainment & 30% Sports we intend to launch many exciting new programs in 2012 with focus on Drama, Game shows, Sitcoms & Entertainment to suit the ever expanding cosmopolitan viewers' trends.
EXPANSION The Network which already broadcast in all ten regional capitals and environs has doubled its transmission power in Accra, Kumasi and has now added six more metropolis to its national coverage, namely Bawku in Upper East, Techiman in Brong Ahafo Region, Hohoe in the Volta Region, Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, Tarkwa in the Western Region and Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region. The expansion drive is aimed at positioning the station as the viewer's & advertiser's choice of free-to-air television and is intended to support & compliment our profile of Urban / Sub urban viewership base.
15TH ANNIVERSARY Metro TV is celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2012 with an extensive PR Campaign in the electronic, print & Outdoor media and rolling out many activities starting in April such us Soccer/sport Fun Games, Mini Golf Tournaments, clean-up exercise, blood donation and to climax all in a banquet dinner dance in September 2012
SCOPE OF BROADCAST IN GHANA
Metro TV says it is embarking on an expansion exercise to relay its signal further in the country by the end of this year. The network, which already broadcasts in all the 10 regional capitals and environs, has doubled its transmission power in Accra and Kumasi, and will now add six more metropolises to its coverage: namely Bawku in the Upper East, Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region, Hohoe in Volta, Obuasi in Ashanti, Tarkwa in Western, and Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
VIEWERSHIP
The expansion drive is aimed at positioning the station as the viewers' and advertisers' choice of free-to-air television. It will as well strive to use its expanded and improved broadcast platform to enhance programme content.
MARKET SHARE

METRO OVERSEAS
The new programmes, mostly in the family-entertainment segment, will be out-doored in October to enable the corporate sales & marketing department plan ahead for the 2012 advertising budget.

Metro TV's signal expansion exercise will be in two phases and will start with Nkawkaw, Obuasi and Tarkwa in phase-one, while phase-two will cater for Techiman, Hohoe, and Bawku—all of which are scheduled for completion by the end of 2011.
