Megan Sullivan McInerney (born 6 July 1990), known by her stage name Meg Mac, is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician. She signed to littleBIGMAN records in 2014, locally, and 300 Entertainment in United States.[1]
Early career
Meg Mac started developing her singing as soon as she could speak.[2] She started writing songs as a teen.[3]
Musical career
In July 2014 Meg Mac announced her first national headline tour to promote her debut extended play, MegMac, which was issued on 12 September that year on littleBIGMAN Records.[4] On Triple J, the national youth radio station, she was announced as their "Unearthed Artist of 2014",[5] while Marie Claire Australia chose her as an "Artist to Watch" for 2015[6] and she received a nomination for Rolling Stone Australia's "Best New Talent" Award.[7]
She was reviewed by The New York Times, BuzzFeed,[8] and Daytrotter. Mac toured supporting Clean Bandit.[9]
On 15 August 2015 Mac achieved her first top 50 chart appearance with "Never Be", which entered the ARIA Singles Chart at No. 39.[10] It out-peaked her first top 100 single, "Roll Up Your Sleeves", which had reached No. 80 in August 2014.[10][11] At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 she was nominated for Best Female Artist for MEGMAC and Breakthrough Artist for "Never Be".[12] On 26 January 2016 "Never Be" made it to No.11 in Triple J's Hottest 100.
