Max Gomez

Dr. Max Gomez is a native of Havana, Cuba, and was the medical correspondent/senior health editor for the NBC flagship television station WNBC in New York City.[1] He delivered segments on health, science and medicine on the 5 pm news. Before that he was the health and science editor for KYW-TV in Philadelphia from 1984 until 1991. In July 2007, "Dr. Max", as he is known, signed as a freelance medical reporter for WCBS-TV in New York.

He is the winner of six New York Emmy Awards and two Philadelphia Emmy awards.[2] In addition to his broadcast work, Gomez serves on the Advisory Board of HealthCorps.

He graduated cum laude from Princeton University and earned a Ph.D. from the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He was a NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at New York's Rockefeller University. Dr. Gomez resides in New York City.
