Matthew Mancinelli (born February 7, 1984) is an American film and television studio executive. Mancinelli is the Founder and CEO of Mance Media, a global film and television distribution company and launched one of the first 4K TV channels titled 4KUNIVERSE. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, grew up in the suburban town of Andover, MA and now resides in the east Hollywood Hills.
Mancinelli has gained 10+ years experience in content distribution and program licensing to broadcasters in every territory of the world. To date, he has exhibited in Cannes at sixteen MIPTV/MIPCOM's and seven NATPE's.
Early life
Matthew grew up with two younger brothers and played youth sports throughout childhood in Andover, Massachusetts. He attended the same high school as former Tonight Show host Jay Leno, Andover High School, and played football as a safety and wide receiver. Upon graduating in 2002, Matthew attended Penn State University. [3] At Penn State, he was active with the local TV channel PSNTV where he directed within the broadcast studio. Mancinelli graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Film & Video. He almost had enough credits to minor in psychology. During the summer of 2006, Mancinelli decided to pack his bags and try to make it in Los Angeles without a job lined up. He simultaneously worked at three internships - one as the 2nd assistant to Steve Golin at Anonymous Content, one at a production company that held Q&A events at Grauman's Chinese Theater and one working for Paul Rich at Bennett Media Worldwide. Mancinelli eventually took a full-time position at Bennett Media and so began his career in international television distribution.
Early career
Mancinelli's senior thesis film titled "Plums" landed him an internship with Bennett Media Worldwide in Los Angeles in 2006. Mancinelli began his career working for, and mentored by, industry veteran Paul Rich at Bennett Media Worldwide for 3 1/2 years. Mr. Rich was the former EVP of Distribution for Metromedia Broadcasting and also sold the most popular shows from Aaron Spelling overseas. Metromedia later became FOX Television Network via the sale to Rupert Murdoch in the 1980’s.
From 2009 through 2011, Mancinelli was SVP of Worldwide Distribution for Shankly Entertainment (now Principal Media). He was hired at Shankly by the CEO and Greek shipping heir Leon Logothetis to start the distribution division for his production company.
Having always been entrepreneurial by nature, Mancinelli launched his own global distribution company Mance Media in January 2012 at the age of 28.
