Matthew Langdon (born 2 May 1980) is an Australian retired association football (soccer) player. Langdon played professionally in the defunct Australian National Soccer League playing for Sydney based clubs, Northern Spirit, Parramatta Power and Sydney United respectively from the 1998-99 season to the league's last season of 2003-04.[1]

Career

After playing for Wollongong City in the National Youth League, Langdon signed his first professional contract with North Sydney based Northern Spirit in the National Soccer League. In his total of three seasons at the club, Langdon made a total of sixty-nine appearances, scoring seven goals in the regular league season,[2][3][4] and made two appearances for the spirit in the 1998-99 season final series against the Marconi Stallions.[5] In the conclusion of the 2000-01 season, Langdon joined Parramatta Power[6] on a two year deal that saw him make a total of nineteen appearances and scoring two goals.[7][8] Langdon's last season as a professional footballer would also be the last season for the then struggling National Soccer League following the findings of the 2003 Crawford Report. Langdon signed a one year deal with Sydney United for the final season of 2003-04 making a total of fourteen appearances and scoring one goal.[9]
