Marie Karsten

Marie Karsten (12 April 1872 – 1953) was a Norwegian interior architect furniture designer and textile designer.

She was born in Christiania to Hans Heinrich Karsten and Ida Susanne Pfützenreuter, and was a sister of architect Heinrich Joachim Sebastian Karsten, painter Ludvig Karsten and textile artist Titti Karsten. Her best known public interior was probably the tearoom Iris in Tostrupgården in Kristiania, from about 1905. She made several contributions to the 1914 Jubilee Exhibition. She is represented in the Norwegian Museum of Decorative Arts and Design.[1][2]
