Margot Bennett (1912 – 6 December 1980) was a screenwriter and an author of crime and thriller novels.
Biography
Born Margot Mitchell, Bennett was born in Lenzie, Scotland. She was educated in Scotland and Australia. She worked as a copywriter in Sydney and London, and as a nurse during the Spanish Civil War. She also wrote science fiction, including The Long Way Back, about African colonization of Britain following a nuclear holocaust.[1]
Bennett also wrote scripts for television, including contributions to Maigret, Emergency-Ward 10 and Quick Before They Catch Us. She also wrote the screenplays for her books which were adapted for the screen.
Bennett married Richard Bennett in 1938, with whom she had three sons and a daughter.[2] She lived latterly in London
