Madrona Venture Group
Madrona Venture Group is an American venture capital firm, founded in 1995 and is based in Seattle, Washington. Madrona specializes in seed, startup, Series A and early stage investments.[1] Madrona has made 143 investments in 75 companies.[2]
Company
Mandrona has invested in the information technology sector including consumer internet commercial software and services, cloud computing, digital media and advertising, wireless, networking, mobile, and infrastructure sectors. [3] As of 2015, more than 90% of the firms investments were in companies based in the Pacific Northwest.[4]
In 2012, Madrona raised a $300 million fund. [5]
In 2014, Madrona Venture Group launched a startup studio, Madrona Venture Labs, as an in-house startup incubator.[6]

Madrona's managing partner, Tom Alberg is a director for Amazon.com.[7] William Ruckelshaus, former United States Deputy Attorney General, is a strategic director.[8] John W. Creighton Jr. is a strategic director.[9] Gerald Grinstein is a strategic director.[10] Oren Etzioni, Professor of Computer Science and Executive Director of the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence, is a venture partner. Dan Weld, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, is a venture partner.[11]
