Lukas Dauser (born 15 June 1993) is a German male artistic gymnast and a member of the national team.
Career
In 2012, Dauser became a member of the first German gymnastics league. He formerly trained in Berlin, although he has always represented two gymnastics clubs – TSV Unterhaching and KTV Straubenhardt from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
He participated at the 2014 World Championships in Nanning, China.[1] He placed 8th with his team (all-around ranking).[2]
In 2014, he performed a new element on the parallel bars during the Challenge Cup in Anadia, Portugal. Due to its complexity, the element was officially named after him and has the code "Dauser" in the Code of Points in artistic gymnastics.
In 2015, Dauser became a German champion with his team KTV Straubenhardt in overall ranking. At the 2015 São Paulo World Cup he won a gold medal on his best apparatus — the parallel bars.
In 2016, he became the national champion on parallel bars, scoring even more points than Marcel Nguyen, the country's previous leader on parallel bars. At the pre-Olympic qualification, the German team ranked first and Dauser finished 4th on the parallel bars. On 10 July, the German national trainer Andreas Hirsch proposed that Dauser be included in the national team to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.[3] At the Olympics, he and the German team placed 7th in the overall team ranking.
