The Beatles, recorded "Lonesome Tears in My Eyes" "live in studio" for the BBC radio programme Pop Go The Beatles on 10 July 1963, and later transmitted on 23 July.[1] In 1994, their recording was commercially released on the album Live at the BBC. The song also influenced a later Beatles song, "The Ballad of John and Yoko" in that the outro guitar riff to that song was inspired by the corresponding intro guitar riff on "Lonesome Tears in My Eyes".[2]
