Liu Zhenyun (born 1958) is a Chinese novelist. His novel One Sentence worth Ten Thousand was awarded the 2011 Mao Dun Literature Prize.

Biography

Liu was born in Yanjin, Henan Province in 1958. In 1973 he joined the People's Liberation Army and spent five years in the Gobi desert. In 1978, he took the gaokao and got the highest score in Henan Province admitted into the prestigious Peking University. After graduating from university, he became a journalist at the Farmers Daily.
