Le Lac d'Ailette
Le Lac d'Ailette is the newest Center Parcs holiday village which opened in 2007. The village is located near Chamouille in the Picardy region of France and is owned by Center Parcs NV. It is located on the shore of the lac de l'Ailette, east of the D967 and is marketed at Center Parcs' most picturesque resort to its setting on a large artificial lake (created in 1984). Le lac d'Ailette is set in less forest than other villages and only the villas are set in woodland with all other attractions being at the lakeside.
Village Features
- The swimming area in the village is of particular note thanks to its large 'water playhouse' which consists of a selection of slides, waterfalls and wild water rapids.
- The village has a large, devoted children's play area called Baluba which includes mini cars, climbing towers and slides.
- There are 10 restaurants and bars including 'Bar-Bowling' by the bowling alley, 'Le Snack Bar du Lagon' in the Aqua Mundo and 'Le Snack Bar de la plage' by the beach. All other restaurants are situated in the dome. There is free wireless internet access in Bar-Bowling.
- The villas are two storey whereas most Center Parcs resorts are bungalows.
