Lancaster Inferno (UWS)
The Lancaster Inferno is a top level amateur women's soccer team based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Founded in 2008, the team plays in United Women's Soccer (UWS), a national amateur league at the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The Inferno's colors are black and white.
Since 2015, the Inferno's home is Millersville University's Pucillo Field in the Lancaster suburb of Millersville. The team played in Hempfield High School's athletic stadium in Landisville from 2008 to 2014. From 2008-2010, the team was part of the larger Pennsylvania Classics organization, which hosts 36 teams from the under 9 group for boys and girls, to the under 19 for young men and women and represents the South Central Pennsylvania and greater Philadelphia areas. In 2008, the Classics maintained a men's team in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), which was also called the Lancaster Inferno. Under the sponsorship of the Penn Legacy Soccer Club from 2011-2012, the women's team changed its name to, "Penn Legacy Inferno." In 2013, the team reverted to its former name, "Lancaster Inferno."
