Kokomo Mantis FC is an American semi-professional soccer club based in Kokomo, Indiana. Starting in May 2016, they will compete in the Heartland Division of the Premier Development League (PDL) Central Conference. The team's colors are Green, White & Gold. [1]
The team is owned by MKE Sports & Entertainment, led by venture capitalist Mike Zimmerman. They will play at the new 4,000 seat Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The PDL awarded the franchise on September 14, 2015. Kokomo resident Christopher Cox submitted the winning entry after a "Name The Team" contest. The team name and logo was announced on January 11, 2016. Marquette University assistant coach Marcelo Santos was hired as head coach on the same day. [2][3]
