Keighley Corporation Tramways operated a tramway service in Keighley between 1901 and 1924.[1]
History
Keighley Corporation bought out the bankrupt Keighley Tramways Company in 1901 and undertook a programme of modernisation.
The route from Ingrow to Utley was electrified and a branch was added to Keighley railway station and Victoria Park.
The new system took power from the Corporation Power Station in Coney Lane.
Closure
Services ended on 17 December 1924. The corporation was one of the first to abandon tramway operation in favour of motor buses.[2]
