Keerthi Pasquel (Sinhala: කීර්ති පැස්කුවල්) is a pop musician from Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Pasquel Sound of Music

As a singer and a musician who has been performing for more than three decades and receiving many accolades, Keerthi was the founder of the 'Pasquel Sound of Music' in 2006. A school to teach voice training and instrumental music for those who wish to be professionals in today's music industry. At 'Pasquel Sound of Music', leading musicians train students the swift methods in mastering a musical instrument. These include the likes of Harsha Makalande, Chandrasena Hettiarachchi and Pasquel himself.[1]

Awards

Pasquel has also won many awards in Sri Lanka. In 1996 he was honoured with an international award from the World Science Council in Japan, where he competed with musicians of repute from 13 countries.[2]

A Man on a Mission

Keerthi launched a praiseworthy project called 'The Child' with the aim of entertaining children of various orphanages in the country, with the intention of recognizing the capabilities of these destitute and orphaned children. In 2005, 'The Child' collected sponsorship funds mainly went towards the rehabilitation of the orphaned children from the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004, and to give them a future to look forward to. This is an ongoing project by Pasquel, organizing not only musical shows, but also dramas, films and amateur talent shows for the lesser fortunate.[3]
