Katie Lou Samuelson (born June 13, 1997) is an American basketball player at the University of Connecticut.

High School

Prior to enrolling at UConn she played for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. She was the 2014 California Gatorade Player of the Year, one of three finalists for the 2014 Naismith Award as national Player of the Year, and a USA Today first-team All-American. In 2015, she was named to the Naismith High School and WBCA High School All-American first teams, was the USA Today All-USA California Player of the Year and a member of the USA Today All-USA and All-California first teams, was on the Consensus All-American first team, and was the Gatorade California Player of the Year.[1]

2015 National Gatorade Player of the Year, 2015 Naismith National Player of the Year, 2015 WBCA National Player of the Year, 2015 USA Today National Player of the Year, 2015 NHSA National Player of the Year, 2015 ESPN/Hoopgurlz national Player of the Year, 2015 Morgan Wooten National Player of the Year. Mater Dei record senior year of 29.2 ppg, and added 9rebs per game, Mater Dei record 3 pointers made in one season 117, 2244 pts in 3 years at Mater Dei, 2733 total HS points, 335 total HS threes made, Mater Dei record 62% FG. Was MVP of Nike HS Tournament of Champions in AZ for 3 years straight leading her team to 3 champions and averaging over 30 points per game.

5 Gold medals with USA basketball - U16 Fiba Americas, record 8/8 on threes in Final against Canadaand captain, U17 World Champions, All Tournament team and leading scorer and captain, U18 3 on 3 World Champion, U18 3 on 3 Fiba Americas Champion, U18 3 on 3 Youth Olympic Games Champion. Also won a bronze at Youth Olympic Games shootout.

College

Samuelson began playing at the University of Connecticut during the 2015–16 season. She broke her foot during the Final Four game against Oregon State in the first play of the game and finished the half on a broken foot scoring 7pts, 3 rebs, 3 assists. Had to sit out during the National Championship game. She won a national championship led by Breanna Stewart and Moriah Jefferson during her freshman year.
