Kate Blakk Kate Parry (born 29 April 1979, in Sydney) is an Australian musical theatre performer, noted for her character acting, four-octave mezzo-soprano singing voice, her voice-over work and recording work country.
Parry started her career at the age of two, as one of the original Play School Toy children, and was the face of AIM toothpaste throughout the US at the age of four. As she discovered her voice, she was sought out by the Walt Disney Co. to be a singer and travelled extensively with them throughout America, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Kate completed her training as one of the youngest graduates of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), earning a B.A in Musical theatre. Kate is also a graduate of the Talent Development Project.
WAAPA
Parry studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, graduating in 2000. While studying in Perth, she was directed and tutored by a number of notable Australian performers such as David King, Tony Sheldon, Nick Enright, Roma Conway, Rhys McConnochie, Adam Cook, Chrissie Koltai, John Milson and Nancye Hayes. Prior to graduating, she starred in the original recording and premiere performance of Jack The Ripper by Matthew Frank, Medea (as Narrator), Follies (as young Sally), The Cradle Will Rock (as Yasser), Johana (as Miss Gilternan), and Carousel (as Nettie Fowler).
While in Western Australia, she also appeared in Rising Stars at Burswood Casino in Perth.

Concert
Parry has an extensive live performing career. Starting in the talent quests of the Returned and Services League (RSL) clubs in New South Wales, she quickly became the face of the Six O'clock Rock tribute show. This led to work with one of Sydney's premier corporate bands, "Blue Train", covering styles from jazz through current top 40 hits.
Theatre credits
She made her professional debut starring with Anthony Warlow and Amanda Muggleton in the 25th Australian Anniversary production of Annie, directed by one of the show's creators Martin Charnin. Kate played the role of "Star to Be", and the show toured through Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with her performance gaining rave reviews in each city.
This led to the lead role of "Helen" in the world premiere of What the World Needs Now, a jukebox musical based on the songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David, who oversaw the production.[1]
Parry starred as Marianne, Johnny O'Keefe's wife, a leading lady role, in Shout! The Legend of The Wild One, for Kevin Jacobsen and the Really Useful Group.

Walt Disney
At the age of 15 Parry was invited to work for the Walt Disney Co. This began a 10-year working relationship with the company that saw her perform in Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Thailand. She performed for the Crown Princess of Thailand, at her request, to celebrate the millennium.
Recording
In 2002, Parry released a history of drum and bass single "Let Me In" co-produced by Sardi. "Let Me In" was joint-released with both Aspect Records UK and Perspective Records. The single hit the top 10 in the UK dance charts.[2]
