Houston Texans

Jackson was drafted by the Houston Texans 20th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. He signed a five-year, $13.1 million contract on July 30, 2010.[4] Jackson started the entire 2010 season for the Texans, a unit that was ranked 32nd out of 32 teams against the pass.[5]

During the 2011 season, Jason Allen was placed ahead of Jackson on the depth chart for a brief time after Allen created big plays and better coverage, including a game-sealing interception against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4.[6] However, Jackson got back on track, and played better the rest of the season, finishing with 42 tackles (37 solo), a forced fumble, an interception, and six passes defensed.[7]

In the 2012 season, with a full offseason under Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips and the mentoring of Pro Bowler Johnathan Joseph, Jackson got off to a hot start, intercepting a Ryan Tannehill pass that was tipped into the air by J.J. Watt in week 1.[8] In week 4, Jackson deflected two passes and intercepted Tennessee Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and returned it 63 yards for his first career touchdown to seal the Texans' 38-14 win.[9]

In week 16 of the 2014 season, Kareem Jackson picked off Joe Flacco twice to beat the Ravens 25-13.

On March 7, 2015, Jackson re-signed with the Texans to a four-year, $34 million contract with $20 million guaranteed.[10]
