Kadin Chung (born September 5, 1998) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays for Whitecaps FC 2 in the USL.
Career
Chung grew up in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency Program in September 2011, making several appearances with their U-16 and U-18 teams.
Whitecaps FC 2 signed Chung during the 2015 USL season and made his debut on September 13, 2015 against Orange County Blues.[1] He would make one more substitute appearance that year. In the 2016 season, Chung established a starting spot at right-back and made the USL Team of the Week after making a crucial assist on a Kyle Greig goal in a 3-2 victory against Tulsa Roughnecks.[2]
International
Chung was part of Canada's U-17 squad which participated at the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. He scored in a 3-1 victory against Haiti and started every game of the tournament at left-back.[3] In 2015, he was named the Canada U17 Male Player of the Year for his performances during the tournament.[4] On 17 March 2016, he was called up to the Canada U-20 squad in their two games against England and scored a goal to open the scoring in a 2-1 victory.[5] In August 2016, he was called up to the U-20 team for a pair of friendlies against Costa Rica[6]
