KBTQ (96.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish Adult Hits format.[1] Licensed to Harlingen, Texas, USA, the station serves the McAllen area. The station is currently owned by Tichenor License Corporation.[2]
History
KBTQ was originally KIWW, a Tejano station until 2002 when they flipped to Rhythmic Top 40. But then in 2004 KBFM switched from Mainstream Top 40 to Rhythmic Top 40, thus sparking a Rhythmic war in the Valley. On October 17, 2005 they bowed out and switched to its current format.
