Justina Valentine is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and model from Clifton, New Jersey, best known for her singles "Candy Land"[2] featuring rapper Fetty Wap, "All The Way" and "Unbelievable".[3][4]

Biography

Early life

Justina Valentine (formerly Justina), was born in Passaic County, New Jersey. She grew up in a family of musicians and did theater and dance as a child. Valentine always had a love for hip hop and pop. In 2004 she started recording her own music.[5] Valentine said she was never shy about being in the spotlight, and always loved to put on a show, make people laugh, and overall make people happy. She started starring in school and local town plays as a child, while taking dance lessons. She comes from a musical family and her father is the lead vocalist in a band and plays a number of instruments.[6]

Career

Valentine is known for her eclectic hip-hop and soul infused sound. She released her first mixtape Route 80 in 2012, the singles "Bubble Gum" and "Hip-hop Joan Jett" became viral hits on Youtube. Valentine released her EP, Valentine, in 2013 debuting at #38 on the iTunes R&B charts.[7] On July 8, 2014, the singer released her second mixtape, Red Velvet. In 2016, she released her studio album, Scarlet Letter. As of 2016, Valentine is also one of the new cast members on Season 8 of Wild 'N Out on MTV.[8]

Musical style and influences

Singer, rapper and songwriter, Justina Valentine has an eclectic pop, and soul infused sound.[9] She has had charting singles and major radio airplay.[10] Valentine is influenced by her father who is a vocalist and musician and artists including Lil' Kim, Eminem, Tupac and The Beatles.
