Dr. Julie Sullivan is the fifteenth president of the University of St. Thomas, a private Roman Catholic institution in St. Paul, Minnesota. As the successor of Fr. Dennis Dease, Sullivan is the first layperson and woman to hold that title in St. Thomas' 128-year history.[1][4]
Before becoming the president in July 2013, she served as the executive vice president and provost at the University of San Diego since 2005. From 2003 to 2005, Sullivan held a professorship in the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego. Before then, she taught for seventeen years at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.[2]
