John Marenbon

John Alexander Marenbon (born 26 August 1955) is a British philosopher at the University of Cambridge^[1] and a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.^[2] He works on medieval philosophy.

He obtained his BA, MA and PhD from the University of Cambridge.^[3] Since 1978 he became a Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge. He has been a Senior Research Fellow at Trinity since 2005. Since 2010 he is a Honorary Professor of Medieval Philosophy at Cambridge ^[4] giving his inaugural lecture on 'When was medieval philosophy?'.^[5] He has also taught at the Sorbonne (Paris IV) and has been a visiting fellow at the Centre for Mediaeval Studies and the Pontifical Institute at the University of Toronto, and at present holds a visiting appointment at Peking University.

He was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2009.^[6]
