Joel Huertas Cornudella (born 9 May 1995), better known as Joel Huertas is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Lleida Esportiu as a midfielder.
Career
Joel gave the first touches of the ball when he joined the team of his people, the Juneda. Then went by the Baix Segrià and finally by the AEM. His next club was Mollerussa, where he played from 2007 to 2010 giving an excellent game and taking the important step to the Lleida Esportiu. Later, he joined FC Barcelona in the summer of July 2011. Being convened for training with the team he met with the world figures such as Lionel Messi and Andrés Iniesta only with the help of then coach, Josep Guardiola. On 5 September 2011, he played his first match as a Barça player against the Cornellà de Llobregat, where he showed a magnificent performance giving good passes and assistance for the victory in the last minute of the game. On Jul 1, 2012, he was transferred to FC Barcelona Juvenil A after seeing his great potential. After already accustomed to playing with Barça, Huertas adapted perfectly to the inside position and went on to win two leagues of the Division of Honour with the Juvenil A and a UEFA Youth League. The same happened in his final season as a youth, where Joel, won the same titles and was about to take the cup of the Juvenil King, along with his companions that made a great campaign. In the 2014–2015 season, he became a professional player as he moved from FC Barcelona Juvenil A to FC Barcelona B.
