The International Journal of Žižek Studies was established in 2007 as a scholarly outlet for a diverse range of perspectives and disciplinary approaches to the work of Slavoj Žižek, a Slovenian critical philosopher and cultural theorist who applied a mix of German Idealist philosophy and Lacanian psychoanalytical theory to a range of cultural and political topics.[1][2] The open access journal is edited by Paul A. Taylor[3] and David Gunkel and publishes non-English original articles and/or translations. The journal was inspired by other open access publications, particularly the International Journal of Baudrillard Studies.[4] It is part of the Open Humanities Press publishing collective.[5]
