Ian Maddieson
Ian Maddieson is a linguist formerly at UC Berkeley, and now an Adjunct Professor Emeritus at the University of New Mexico. He was Vice-President of the International Phonetic Association, and Secretary of the Association for Laboratory Phonology. He wrote the books Patterns of Sounds and Sounds of the World's Languages.
