"I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love" is a song by American R&B singer, Stephanie Mills, and is the second single from her 1985 self-titled album. The song was written by Angela Winbush and René Moore, of the singing duo Rene & Angela.
The song peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart, and remained number one for two weeks in May 1986. "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love" was Mills's sixteenth entry on the chart and her first number-one single. It is one of her most successful singles in the R&B markets. However, the single did not make the Billboard Hot 100.[1]
