The Humana Distaff Handicap is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually on the first Saturday in May as part of Derby Day at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Open to fillies and mares, age four and older, it is contested on dirt over a distance of 7 furlongs for a purse of $300,000.
A Grade I event inaugurated in 1987 as the Brown & Williamson Handicap, the race's name was changed in 1995 to the Humana Distaff. A Listed race until 1990 when it was given Grade III status, it was subsequently upgraded to a Grade II event in 1999 then to its present Grade I status in 2002.
