Huel is a nutritional powdered food that is intended to provide all of the body's daily needs in terms of vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins and carbohydrates.[2][3] Huel is made from seven ingredients: oats, rice protein, pea protein, sunflower, flaxseed, coconut MCTs, plus a vitamin and mineral blend. Huel’s name is a portmanteau of the words human and fuel. Huel is founded and based in Aylesbury, England.

Product history

Huel first started shipping on June 17, 2015 with version 1.0. Since then, Huel v1.1, Huel v1.2, Huel v2.0 and Huel v2.1 have been released. All versions since its creation have been vegan, containing a 30% protein, 30% fat, 40% carbohydrate split by calories.

On October 12, 2015, an unflavoured and unsweetened version was made available. It is almost identical to the original Huel, however it contains no sweeteners or flavours. On April 26th, 2016, a gluten free version of Huel was released.

Huel is created and produced in the United Kingdom, with delivery available to the rest of Europe, and many other locations. The formula was created by James Collier BSc (Hons) RNutr.
