The Holosporaceae are a family of bacteria, formerly included in the order Rickettsiales, but now raised to their own order, the Holosporales. The member Holospora is an intracellular parasite found in the unicellular protozoa Paramecium.[1]
The genera Caedibacter, Holospora, Lyticum, Odyssella, Pseudocaedibacter, Pseudolyticum and Tectibacter are Incertae sedis.[1]
Genome
Draft genome sequences are available for three Holospora species [2] and Odyssella thessalonicensis [3] .[4]
