Hey Ghost, Let's Fight (Hangul: 싸우자 귀신아; RR: Ssauja Gwisin-a) is a South Korean television series starring Ok Taec-yeon, Kim So-hyun and Kwon Yul.[1] It is a Korean drama remake of the webtoon of the same title which was serialized on Naver from 2007 to 2010.[2][3][4] It replaced Another Oh Hae-young and aired on cable network tvN on Mondays and Tuesdays at 23:00 (KST) for 16 episodes from July 11 to August 30, 2016.
Plot
Park Bong-pal (Ok Taec-yeon) has grown up with ability to see ghosts and uses this ability to work as an exorcist, banishing ghosts, but only weak ones, in order to make enough money to take away his ability to see ghosts. Called to a haunted school he encounters Kim Hyun-ji (Kim So-hyun) a feisty middle high-school student who, because of a traffic accident, became a wandering spirit the day before her college entrance exams. The two accidentally kiss and Hyun-ji discovers that Bong-pal holds the secret as to why she is a spirit. In order to be freed from endlessly wandering the earth as a ghost and to ascend to the next life, Hyun-ji convinces Bong-pal to allow her to live with him and the two become ghost fighting partners.
With Hyun-ji as his partner, Bong-pal finds that he can fight even stronger ghosts, but also learns that not all ghosts are malevolent, that with the understanding of a ghost's story he can sometimes more simply help them pass into the next world. Working and living together Bong-pal, a long time loner because of his spirit sight, finds himself falling in love with Hyun-ji, and she also likes him. However, both are unaware that even as they hunt ghosts, they, in turn, are stalked by an evil spirit that was the cause of Hyun-ji's accident, and also the reason of why Bong-pal can see ghosts .

The male protagonist of the series. Bong-pal is a 23-year-old 2nd year Economics student and the adopted son of an exorcist. He can see and interact with ghosts, who he beats up into leaving their haunts. Due to his ability he grew up avoiding people and was always a loner before he met and fell in love with Hyun-ji.

The female protagonist of the series. A middle high-school student who, since a car accident when she was aged 19, has roamed the earth for five years as a wandering spirit. With no memory of her past she is unable to move on. Discovering that Bong-pal may hold the secret of her past, she moves in with him and becomes his ghost fighting partner. She can see how ghosts were killed, allowing her to help Bong-pal in dispelling them. Living and fighting, together and against each other, she falls in love with Bong-pal. It is revealed that Hyun-ji is not dead but has been in a coma for five years, when she wakes from her coma she forgets her time spent with Bong-pal and her love for him. However, she falls in love with him for a second time.
The main antagonist of the series. At 31 the youngest professor of veterinary medicine at Bong-pal's university, he has however had the enjoying of murdering people since very young. He has been possessed on his will by an extremely powerful evil spirit for so long that it is almost impossible to discern the difference between the two. It was later revealed that he was a serial murderer that took many innocent lives with his powers (thus causing the rapidly increasing of the spiritual unrest around the town) for years, including Hyun-ji's friends, and almost killed Hyun-ji for attempting revealing is murdering motives. Before possessing Hye-sung the spirit had tried to possess the young Bong-pal, and the fragment of the spirit that remains in Bong-pal is the reason he can see ghosts. Fearing a ritual weapon that could destroy himself, and the spirit that possesses him, have stalked Bong-pal for years and were responsible for the death of his mother and father, and for running over Hyun-ji. He was eventually arrested by the police after his inner body's evil spirit was removed and in attempt to escape from Korea, and sent to prison for his entire life for his responsibilities of all his criminal offences.

A 55-year-old Buddhist monk, he has been Bong-pal's spiritual protector since childhood, and was responsible for casting out the spirit that had tried to possess him.

Bong-pal's father, in possession of a ritual weapon that can destroy the spirit, he has been running from the evil spirit since encountering it again at Bong-pal's high school graduation. Believing that his father has abandoned him, Bong-pal is estranged from his father, unaware that he has been trying to protect him by leading the spirit away from him.

Bong-pal's mother, a powerful medium she refused to allow an evil spirit to possess her son. In vengeance the spirit manifested itself as a black mist and pushed her into the path of a car that killed her. Part of Bong-pal's trauma is his seeing her at her funeral and her ascension.

Production
In March 2016, tvn announced that they would be adapting and producing a drama version of Hey Ghost, Let's Fight a popular 2007-2010 manhwa by Im In-soo, under the same title. On April 27, Kim So-hyun's agency confirmed that she would join the drama,[17] with male lead Ok Taec-yeon and Kwon Yul joining on May 4.[18]
The first script reading was held on May 18, 2016 at CJ E&M Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea.[19] Episode 1 was aired on July 11, 2016 on tvN channel.
