Haze Shrapnel is an EP by Bass Communion, a side project of Steven Wilson. It contains an out-take from the Molotov and Haze sessions, titled Haze Shrapnel, as well as a remix of the same piece by Freiband (Stage name of Frans De Waard), retitled Scherven. It was released as an on-demand 3 inch CDR by My Own Little Label.[2] A companion EP, with the roles reversed, was released under the title Headwind/Tailwind.

Release

Steven Wilson had had become interested in Frans De Waard small record label My Own Little Label, which specializes in the release of bonus and archival material. Wilson had a spare track from his recently completed Bass Communion album, Molotov and Haze, and suggested De Waard release it. De Waard accepted the offer and added a remix of the track.[3]

The EP was re-released in April 2009 as a 10" LP by Tonefloat, available only a limited bonus disc to the LP release of Molotov and Haze.[4]
