Gregory Gray (born Paul Lerwill, 1959, Northern Ireland) is a singer/songwriter. He started out as a guitarist in the 1970s teen group Rosetta Stone, then in the early 1980s he was the frontman for Perfect Crime. He then began a solo career, with his debut album, Think of Swans, on the CBS Records label. His second album was released on the ATCO label, Strong at Broken Places, with a third on the EMI label, Euroflake in Silverlake. In the 21st century he continues to write and make music under the moniker "mary cigarettes".

Personal life

Raised in Northern Ireland by an English mother and English/Indian father, he was taken out to Singapore at 10 years old with his three brothers and one sister to live on Changi Royal Air Force Camp for three years, where his father was stationed. It is here where he learned to play guitar. On returning to Ireland to complete basic education, he then left for Edinburgh at sixteen to work six nights a week as a disc jockey up until the age of nineteen, and from there is where his life as a recording artist begins, starting with Rosetta Stone.[1][2][3]
