The (Book Name: تواریخ خورشید جھاں) written by Sher Muhammad Gandapur said that Syed Muhammad is known as Gesudaraz I in history and is progenitor of several Sayyid tribes in Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. He is the father of Mashwani, Storyani, Hani. Some said also Wardag. [1] The descandants of these four persons are using there names as surname respectively.
Scholar Shabbir Ahmed Kakakhel proves that there was Syed Karaan (Karlan) is supposed to be Gesudaraz I.[2] However as per local saying and research of Dargah e Bandenawaz it is said that there was a prince of Persia named Syed Kalan Gesu Daraz who was from fourth or fifth generation of Ja'far al-Sadiq and son of Syed Qaaf also titled Gesudaraz.
