George Wallace Grayson, Jr. (July 23, 1938 – March 4, 2015) was an American politician from Virginia who served in the House of Delegates, representing District 51 from 1973 to 1981, then District 97 from 1983 to 2001.[1][2] Grayson ran his first campaign in 1971 and lost to Russell M. Carneal,[3] but defeated him in the 1973 elections. Grayson obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master's and doctorate from Johns Hopkins University and a law degree from the College of William & Mary,[4] where he taught from 1968 to 2012.[1] Grayson was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.[5][6] He also wrote books and monographs about Mexico, Latin America, and international affairs.[7]
