On September 5, 2010, Tampa Bay signed him to their practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on December 14, but didn't play in a game that season.
Detroit Lions

Second stint with Buccaneers
After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers resigned Johnson to an offer sheet of three years, $9 million, the Detroit Lions disputed the sheet, sending it to arbitration.[2] On April 15, 2015, the Detroit Lions traded Johnson and a seventh-round pick to the Buccaneers in exchange for a fifth-round pick.[3][4]
