General Alvear Partido is one partido (administrative subdivision) out of 135 in Buenos Aires Province in Argentina.
Located in the centre of Buenos Aires province, General Alvear Partido has a population of about 15,000 inhabitants in an area of 3,427 km2 (1,323 sq mi), and its capital city is General Alvear. The partido is 220 km (140 mi) from the city of Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina.
The partido and capital are named after the 19th Century Argentinian soldier and statesman Carlos María de Alvear (October 25, 1789 November 3, 1852).
