Gene Emerson (born 30 August 1997) is a Canadian composer and pianist. Emerson first started piano lessons at the age of 4 at Tom Lee Music. She has previously studied piano under Rosemary O’Connor and currently studies with Corey Hamm. Emerson started her formal composition training at the age of 11. Previous composition teachers include David Gordon Duke, Rodney Sharman and Dorothy Chang. Emerson's first concert was a benefit performance for Unicef[1] and since then has also given performances at venues such as Tom Lee Music, Evergreen Cultural Centre and the Vancouver Art Gallery as part of Gene Ramsbottom's Out for Lunch Concert Series.
