The Gen. Robert E. Lee Monument is a military war memorial located in a city park at the center of Marianna, Arkansas. It commemorates General Robert E. Lee, the leading Confederate Army general in the American Civil War. Made entire of marble, it consists of a statue of General Lee dressed in his Confederate uniform. The statue is mounted on a column 20 feet (6.1 m) high, with a fountain at its base which is fed by two downward-pointing sculpted cannons. The memorial was sponsored and funded by the local chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and erected in 1910.[2]
The monument was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.[1]
