"Gem Sweater" is a song recorded by American pop music group Leslie and the LY's for their debut studio album, Gold Pants (2004). It was released along with the rest of the album on March 11, 2005 as the album's second single. The track was supplemented with a music video the same year.[1] A revisited version with revised vocals appeared on their sophomore album, Door Man's Daughter (2006).
Composition
"Gem Sweater" is a dance song, with a length of two minutes and fifty-one seconds. It begins with a hip hop beat, and upbeat bass, before electronic pianos are added. In the chorus, synths are the main focus, with the group singing in high vocal register. Leslie Hall's vocals span two octaves from G3 to G5. Hall wrote and produced the track.
Music video
The track was supplemented with a music video in 2005.[1] It shows the group performing in gem sweaters behind gold and purple backgrounds.
