Gaziul Hasan Khan is a Bangladeshi journalist. He is a former Chief Editor and Managing Director of the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.[1] He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2006 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to journalism.[2]
Education and career
Khan was associated with several newspapers while he was a master's student in economics at the University of Dhaka.[3] In 1976, he went to London with a Commonwealth scholarship to study journalism and later obtained a higher diploma in international relations from the University of London.[3]
Khan debuted as a reporter of the then Eastern News Agency (ENA) in during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. He was involved with the BBC Radio broadcasting and later was appointed as senior editor of London-based World Times.[3]
Khan was appointed the Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha in May 2004. He was sacked from the position in November 2006.[4]
