Garett MacDonald (born January 12, 1971) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey and roller hockey defenceman. MacDonald was selected seventh overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1992 NHL Supplemental Draft.
MacDonald attended Northern Michigan University where he played four seasons (1990 – 1994) of NCAA hockey with the Northern Michigan Wildcats, scoring 8 goals and 40 assists for 48 points, while earning 308 penalty minutes, in 151 games played.
He went on to play professionally, including the 1994–95 and 1995–96 seasons with the Richmond Renegades of the ECHL, where he played a total of 113 games including playoffs.
MacDonald also played professional roller hockey with the San Jose Rhinos of Roller Hockey International during their 1995 season.
MacDonald became a police officer with the Vancouver Police Department, and he continued to play adult recreational hockey with the Adult Safe Hockey League. In 2011 he was seriously injured when he was struck in the eye with a stick during a game, losing his vision in one eye as a result.
