French IPA vowel chart with audio
The following are the vowel sounds of the French language in the International Phonetic Alphabet along with audio files for each size. The IPA maps the vowels according to the position of the tongue.
Some dialects make no distinction between /a/ and /ɑ/. Some smaller dialects and French based creoles show greater variation in sound vocabulary and vowel use.
