Frederik Bætzmann

Samuel Frederik Bætzmann (16 October 1841 – 2 May 1913) was a Norwegian journalist. He was born in Trondheim,[1] and was father of journalist Kitty Wentzel and father-in-law of painter Gustav Wentzel.[2] From 1864 to 1865 he edited the periodical Illustreret Nyhedsblad.[3] He worked for the newspaper Aftenbladet from 1867 to 1871, and for Dagbladet from 1871, including a period as reporter in Paris, and later a short period as editor-in-chief. From 1892 he was political editor of Aftenposten. He settled in Rome from 1908, and published the book Italiens frihedskamp in 1911. He died in Rome in 1913.[1]
