Franz Ammann (3 November 1919 – 18 August 1943) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant of the Reserves in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Franz Ammann was killed on 18 August 1943 in Boromlja, Russia. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross on 23 August 1943 and promoted to Oberleutnant der Reserve.
